in nîmes of southern france, an exuberant city filled with artists, is the ’paloma’ complex by french firm tetrarc. dedicated to contemporary music,
the venue integrates two concert halls, twelve rehearsal and recording studios, six accommodations for performers in residence, administration offices
and technical facilities. an exterior shell made form zinc emerges from the ground and begins to stretch, fray and break apart near the edges.
a large screen protrudes from the northwest facade, announcing events and performers.

inside, bold colors saturate the rooms where the public and artists meet. representing the colors of the bullfight, a bright yellow and purple foyer,
stairway and patio along with red entries to the main concert halls. geometries of the walls evoke a bullfighters movements while images
of the crowd are projected over the seats within the large auditorium.

Comments

  1. How long did they sit outside the concert hall? How long do you think will they wait for a concert? Will they arrive in the morning? Or even a day before the concert? Or in the evening? Do you know??? It’s IMPORTANT

  2. These government agents or whatever have to stop a bomb in a concert hall from going off. When the last note of the song Ode to Joy is played, the bomb will be activated and explode. The agents are trying to stop the concert in time. Can anyone please tell me the name of this movie?

  3. I would like some suggestion to places that are not your typical reception/ceremony locations.
I’m looking for answers from people who have either had their wedding somewhere or attended one that was at somewhere that wasn’t typical.
No churches, hotels or standard banquet halls.
I’m think more like museums, theatres, concert halls, art galleries or large restaurants.
Something quirky and different but still classy.
Also, if anyone has any price ranges that would be helpful. If someone has photos from the event I would greatly appreciate a link to them if possible.
The location would be for anywhere between 125-200 guests.

  4. How much room do you think it takes to grow animals for food (cows, chickens, pigs etc..)? What about grains, vegetables, nuts, and fruit? Would food grow as well in desert areas, mountainous areas, or jungle areas?
Would there be any space left for wild animals or natural plant life? Would there be any space left for shopping malls, movie theaters, concert halls, factories, office buildings, or parking lots?

  5. Cpt Excelsior says:

I’m looking for posters of concert halls or famous classical/jazz musicians (composers, performers, improvisers, stages, audiences) to add a little inspiration to my dorm room. Where might I find something like this?

  6. evangldbrg says:

I want to measure Reverberation time in a concert hall or a church but I am not sure which method to use. And I have been reading up on MLS and Sine Sweep Tests and I am not sure if I need to do them too.

  7. I’m writing a story about a traveling band, and I need some more names for the concert halls they’ll be performing at. Even unique, made-up names are fine. So far I have “venue, concert hall, and show room”….any ideas?

  8. louisewoods1984 says:

Imagine my drawing like a concert hall as it is seen by someone performing on stage, so there must be a beam right in their eyes. How can I convey that blinding light and general brightness of a well lit stage with oil pastels?
If it helps, I have the Faber Castell box of 36 oil pastels, which gives me quite a variety of shades. Please be as precise as you can with the technique and colors I should use.
    Any help would be welcome!

  9. im trying to decide on a career path for myself so i can pick my college and major and stuff
what would the job of an architect who designs a building or room according to the persons wants and needs acoustically be called?
i just randomly thought of it, but im sure its a profession
it just seems really interesting and fun
    who designs concert halls?
what degree would i need to get?

  10. ConfusionnaJob says:

I remember changing the audio sounds on my itunes to diffrent echo-y sounds like bathroom, sewer, concert hall, ect. but now I can’t figue out how I did it.
Does anyone have any clue how I did so? I know I sucked at explaining.

  11. lcollier93sbcglobalnet says:

In our concert hall the audience waits until the end of a piece before applauding. I have been to concerts in other cities where the audience may applaud at the end of a movement of a concerto or symphony. What’s your experience? From what region/nation are you? If you are a performer, do you have a preference?

  12. therundown2k3 says:

Alright I am curious as to what you would classify this as. I want to go to school for it or figure out how to make a career out of this. I want to work with local bands and promote them and like bring events to like local bars, concert halls and so forth. My friend does this and he works at a festival just booking bands and gets paid well. I’m just not sure how to get my foot in the door?

  13. Jeanelle the Retard says:

OK, so I have a decent pionner deck (stereo sound, or 2.0), crossover, subs, mids and high, each one with their apropiate ampifiers but, I want all the sounds to blend, I want to add dept to the music, like if you were in a concert hall, where you can hear every instrument independently, not the bass from the back or the highs from my pillars. Have you ever tried the bose triport headphone, I whant it to sound like that, just in my car.
I heard there are componments called digitalizators, processors, and bass processor.
School me on tecniques, types of componments, brands or anything that can help me turn my stereo sound into something more live like. I don’t need an epicenter since I got plenty of bass and I don’t want to change my head unit.

  14. I’m sick and tired of bands who always miss Cardiff on their UK tours because we haven’t got a medium sized concert hall.

  15. I know, odd question. My friend works for a company that makes pipe organs like the ones in concert halls and cathedrals and wanted to visit Notre Dame’s organ and I think the one at Sacre Coeur?? He’s been trying to get in touch with those churches but I don’t think he’s had much luck.

I think if we could find a music student with a familiar interest, we would have the perfect tour guide, but we’re also really looking for the behind the scenes look at the organs.

    Can anyone help?

  16. nyyankees1123 says:

    1. the middle class in the concert halls

    2. ordinary peasants in the camps and shanty towns

    3. the dance halls of the palaces and castles

    4. ordinary churchgoers in worship services

    5. the monasteries and abbeys of the Catholic Church

  17. x_blind_x_gamer_x says:

I am looking to plan a benefit for the National MS Society in April of 2009. We have a concert hall venue tentatively setup and we are currently recruiting volunteers to help with the rest of the planning. What major things do we need to focus on to make sure this benefit concert is a success?

  18. toysruslover says:

I’m going to the Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh for a concert on saturday and I don’t know how to dress for a concert hall.
    What are the requirements?

  19. ibjammin44 says:

Got tickets to go and see Rhydian tomorrow who is preforming in the Glasgow concert hall. I was wondering tho, is it possible to meet him and get his autograph at the end of the performance.

  20. Matthew S says:

I couldn’t understand how to do this question, can anyone help me?

A 440 Hz note is sounded by the oboe in an orchestra. If the temperature in the concert hall is 20 degrees Celsius, how many complete vibrations does the oboe reed make before the sound reaches a member of the audience 40m away?

    The answer is 51.

  21. Whenever something plays out of my speakers, it gives it the concert hall effect. On SP3 I can’t seem to find a place to change it. Is there even a way at all?
When I said delete sound effects I didn’t mean stuff like the logon sounds, etc. I meant it was effects like Concert Hall, Stadium, etc that you could add to your audio output to make it sound different but I can’t find where to change it back to normal.

  22. The Beatles says:

I prefer small to medium sized clubs or concert halls. Concerts in stadiums or big sports complexs annoy me.

  23. I’m going to be in London in early June and I love going to concerts. I was wondering if anyone familiar with the music scene in London knows of any shows I should check out and what venues they will be at and when they will be. In general I like hard rock, metal and punk and am into underground/obscure music. But I am willing to try anything. I’d be up for seeing AC/DC or some other huge act at a stadium, but would rather see something at a smaller concert hall or club.

  24. A concert hall sets ticket prices in its balcony section that result in some empty seats in the balcony. Assume that the concert hall must charge the same price to everyone buying a balcony seat. Is it possible that this concert could be profit maximizing? If so, explain how. If not, why not?

Please help, not sure how to do this one. A numerical example would be nice but its not necessary. Thank you!

  25. wwwavid360gamercom says:

What caused the growth in leisure time activities in the late 1800s?
    A. The move from cities to suburbs
    B. Higher incomes and shorter work hours
    C. Private funding of concert halls and theaters
    D. Automobiles

    any help would be great!

  26. In every good quality auditorium or concert hall I have attended, there are fire bell shaped apparatuses under the seats. Are these for acoustical purposes? What exactly is their function?

  27. i wonder if there is any big concert halls that hosts big events in holland.i mean where do nedelandese usually check for upcomming BIG events like the ones we can find in London’s O2?
    thank you :)

  28. I’m sure he was a great musician, but why would they name a tennis stadium after him? There are so many great tennis players from the past they could have named it after, why would they pick a musician? Are there a lot of concert halls named after tennis players?

  29. My old computer used to have a setting where you could change the environment – such as a concert hall, arena, small room, pipe etc. I believe this was a characteristic of the sound card, so it is not something I can copy over.

Now, with my new sound card, I have some options but not good ones. Is there any software that can do this for me?

  30. homerliveshere says:

Say you just performed sonata no 1 by Beethoven in a huge concert hall, so everyone claps right? Right, but why do they not clap in a music store when you perform this same piece? Also, say you performed just how you did in front of thousands.

  31. I want to buy tickets to a show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall as a gift for someone who likes classical music. However, I don’t know anything about it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a show on the weekend in March/April/May?

“Blomstedt conduct Beethoven” and “Rattle conducts Bruckner” mean nothing to me! Help!

  32. What kind of structural system was used in building Walt Disney Concert Hall?

Is it shell? or skeleton-and-skin system?

  33. Dark_LovexXx says:

I am attending the concert tonight for vivaldi’s four seasons, its my first time at the walt disney concert hall; therefore, i was wondering if anyone has been there. Usually you can get away with business casual, but how is it there? is it formal?

  34. mr flibble says:

Why are period instrument musicians all standing nowadays? Is there historic precedence for this? It really bothers me because most concert halls have the seating gallery below the stage, which already limits orchestra visibility for the front seaters and the everyone standing setup will just make things worse.

Is this done for baroque music only? What about classical and early romantic performances?

  35. uberfailz says:

I’m a music business student trying to find an internship in the programming department at a decent concert hall that typically features classical music. If you could just list some in the northeast coast US area, that would be great. I know of a few, but I’m sure i’ve missed many. Thanks!

  36. tefa_96 says:

Who could I contact regarding booking a concert in the DFW area? I’m looking for something like a ballpark stadium or concert hall for a band to play there. Thank you

  37. Melanie says:

I saw this beautiful song on an Arabic music channel with two girls and three boys singing in an elaborate concert hall. Someone wrote down the name for me, but unfortunately I can’t read Arabic yet! Sorry the details are so vague. Apparently the song is quite popular right now.

  38. Dr Dorian says:

Between theater paris and voodoo doughnuts there is a tiny concert hall, what’s it called?

  39. I just scored really good seats to a trey songz concert!! it has countless other artist on tour also including dondria, monica, and more… But can a 16 year old girl go to one of his concerts? Will they check i.ds at the door. I mean its at a public place like a concert hall, not a club setting at all. Thanks i spend almost 80$ on ticket and would get killed if I cant go. Should I call ticket master and ask them? Thanks!

  40. alberto s says:

Its like for concert hall,so the standard has to be REALLY good, I just want to audition for fun. Mind you, I have a great passion for music, and I hope to play piano/guitar and sing. Thanks.

  41. andresumoza says:

How much is a one day rental of the ballroom in the Fairmont Royal York Hotel In downtown Toronto?
Also how much does it cost to rent the concert hall for a day at the same hotel?

  42. arronwrath says:

I have a group interview at a concert hall coming up but i have only prepared for 1-2-1 interviews. Can any1 help me?

  43. I’m going to a One direction concert in Philly next year. I’ve read on some websites that if I arrive early, I would be able to catch One Direction before they go into the concert hall. Is it true? Also, when should I arrive before the concert? If I could get some good answers I’d really appreciate it! Thanks!
